By the age of 8 Sam was behaving like an old man. Perhaps this was partly because we lived by the sea (on the beautiful Gower peninsula) and - summer or winter - he spent more time in the water than out of it. Whatever the reason, his limbs had stiffened and he could no longer chase seagulls the way he once did.
Then his 'sister' (actually, my daughter Joanna!) arrived with a chubby yellow tub. What was in it? A special Aloe Vera drink that, she said, had helped her IBS - and that would now help Sam's arthritis.
To cut a long story short, despite my initial skepticism, Joanna was right and it was thanks to the dramatic improvement in Sam that I began to understand the power of 'Miracle Plant' Aloe Vera.
If you have a beloved pet animal aloe make perfect sense!
P.S. Most of these products are great for humans as well.
